We use a number of Acquia products and services across our enterprise. We power over 40 core sites and tools internet and intranet. We leverage the Acquia ecosystem, Drupal, site studio, DAM on ACSF and ACE stacks to build operate, enhance both websites and headless APIs which in turn power various BCBSMA portals.
  • Low code, no code ability for business teams to build and maintain their own basic sites and content
  • Enables us to have a single source of truth for all our digital assets via the DAM, manage and distribute them across the enterprise and to other third party partner applications
  • Allow for rapid creation, spin up, publishing of critical digital content without releases, both intranet, and internet
  • Acquia platform and its operational support is outstanding, extremely reliable
  • We like the DAM but it needs improvements in its availability of APIs and plug in integrations. ex. the Brightcove plugin does not support 508c asset accessory files, the DAM does, our understanding is there is no API access to the asset aux files.
Well suited for constructing, enhancing, and operating mission critical websites with a modern UI that meets branding needs well. Able to have low code - no code content and site management with no to minimum development. Able to manage assets well and generally distribute them automatically to numerous digital properties. We are looking at creating a secure logged-in portal with our Acquia products

We use Acquia Digital Experience Platform to build websites for showing our products and other relevant information for our customers and users that helps us to get RFQs and cross selling of our products.
  • Rich User Experience
  • Ease of creating and manging contents
  • Fully compliant and secured
  • Robust platform
  • Better SEO and In-built features
  • More focus on SEO
  • AI driven search capabilities
  • Layout builder in built support for translation capabilities
Acquia Digital Experience Platform is well suited for website driven experience to showcase your products and services in a highly designed UI experience. It is lacking in performance and site speed where we struggle to make the web pages load faster.

We use Acquia to host our sites. We have been using it in my current organisation for the past 3 years. Site factory and site studio or cohesion are some of the products that we use. Site factory helps in spinning up new sites, cloning existing sites, backing them up and reverting backups.
Good thing about site studio is that it provides an intuitive component builder that non Drupal technical individuals can really get started with when creating new sites. Creating components are just like filling form data which makes this process convenient for many non technical users.
  • Customer support
  • Weekly calls with report analysis
  • Proactive scale ups
  • Site monitoring
  • SLA can be better for lower priority tickets
  • Should include ssl certs for internal domains
  • Acquia login should be made with company SSO only
Well suited -
  • Whenever small teams are present with mumerous amount of sites. This is because the customer support of Acquia is better than many others.
  • Developers can easily integrate pipelines for deployments.
  • Code bases, databases and file systems can be transfered between dev, test and prod environment with just a simple mouse drag and drop
Less appropriate -
  • When team needs root access on an emergency.

We host sensitive private data for schools. It needs to be private and it needs to be reliable. The data also needs to be on Australian servers. We use their lowest tier of hosting/support to conserve spend, but the services have been provided well, as has the tech support, despite phone not being an option.
  • Instant response
  • Competent tech support
  • Reliable hosting
  • Documentation is a bit hard to follow
  • Responsiveness on Cloud IDE is slow enough that we've used another solution
It's been great for our hosting as we require top-notch security on locally-located servers (inside Australia). I wouldn't recommend them for smaller businesses who can't afford 4-figure monthly hosting bills, of course. In order to economise, we chose the lowest level of support but it has still be top notch. No complaints.

We have been using the Acquia platform for all our customer website projects for the last 12 years. Our projects are large, complex, busy websites for demanding customers. The platform makes our development and operating work easy. The platform is secure, and their support team is prompt and cooperative. That helps.
  • Ability to manage multiple environments well
  • The Cloud IDE, which is a recent innovation
  • Security has been great. Never had a problem thus far.
  • Acquia is very innovative with the platform. No suggestions
It is a bit pricey compared to alternatives but we found it be well worth the premium. We use it for our customers and so obviously the customer needs to be agreeable to the higher cost. However, the extra cost is still a small fraction of the overall operating cost.

The cloud IDE is set up with tooling, folder structure, and browser-based so it's ready quickly and always available. The cloud platform makes managing your environments simple and clean without worrying about the underlying architecture. The products offered by Acquia, as a whole, are robust and we are currently only realizing a fraction of our potential, but we are working towards implementing the CI/CD and Remote Administration features to even further ease the demand on our technical team.
  • Cloud IDE
  • Customer Service
  • Cloud Platform
  • Site Studio
  • Testing
It is simple to deploy any branch of code in your git repository to any environment on the cloud platform. It is also simple to ssh into any environment to manage it or, Acquia also offers a CLI to perform common tasks remotely from the command line.

I use Acquia cloud platform for multiple Drupal clients. There isn't a comparable service provider that exists for soup to nuts Drupal development, pipeline, hosting and technical support. The majority of my clients are large University, State and Federal government entities, requiring 99%+ uptime, and this is never a concern with Acquia. All issues are handled promptly, and deployment pipelines run like clockwork.
  • Customer service
  • Drupal integrations
  • Pipelines / deployments
  • Documentation is scattered
  • Non critical issues are handled by less knowledgeable staff
  • Pricing could be improved
If you have a large, Federal agency / University Drupal site, and/or require FedRAMP hosting, Acquia is the most turnkey option available. For smaller sites that don't require 99%+ uptime, and have less complex deployment and testing strategies, Acquia is probably overkill, and (potentially) prohibitively expensive. Acquia does big Drupal sites.

i use everyday the Acquia platform for the needs of our clients. The main advantages of the Acquia platform are:
- a real good CI from dev to stage
- good performance fast and reliable
- as reactive support when i have some issues
  • continuous integration
  • cache performance
  • permanent working services
  • customer support
  • content hub
  • real time show logs on each environment
for a simple professional site Acquia is perfect.

Our Acquia Cloud Platform and Cloud IDE services enable us to host, manage, develop, test, and deploy our public and intranet portal applications in a centralized, fast and secure way. Acquia Cloud coupled with an excellent professional support, enables our institution to establish a great web presence to the general public and to our internal users.
  • Application Management
  • Content Management
  • Built-in security
  • Customer support
  • View application source code directly in the portal (e.g. Modules, configuration files, etc.) similar to GiHub.
I am convinced that Acquia is a perfect platform for hosting and a provider of multiple services regardless of industry, or company size. It can help anyone establish a quick digital presence regardless of the complexity involved.

We use Acquia cloud for hosting drupal sites of small to large sizes. We use other products like site studio for design and personalization for building a personalized experience for users. Acquia cloud provides an easy interface for managing the sites from deployment to taking backup and it saves lots of time for the team to focus on the actual work.
  • Easy to manage deployment and automatic backups
  • Great support team that is happy to help on any issue specially on critical issues
  • Regular updates about sites and service on Acquia during maintenance
  • Account manager support to always make sure how the site is performing
  • The Acquia personalization does not have clear documentation, It is a bit difficult to find what you are looking for in the documentation
  • The product should have a sandbox account for developers to learn and recommend it to their customers
  • Site studio a has very less option to customise, as we came across few scenarios where we needed to alter the behaviour of site studio component but could not find any documentation about it.
I believe for hosting a drupal application, especially a large application I would recommend using the Acquia platform, Also Acquia provides a list of products that covers the complete digital experience like personalization and site factory for managing multisite.
I would say for small sites it may not be useful to use such a vast eco system of tools.

If you use Drupal as your CMS, Acquia makes a lot of sense as a hosting partner. Acquia Support, Technical Account Management (TAM) teams, and Acquia Professional Services all understand Drupal, in addition to Acquia. Also, Acquia has a network of Drupal development partners and introduced us to a great partner. We leverage Acquia for hosting 2 websites, one which is very simple and one that is quite complex. The simple website can be maintained fairly automatically through Acquia's RA (Remote Administration) branch, which handles Drupal core module updates, security patches, and some other updates seamlessly. We use a 3-tiered environment and GitHub with the more complex site and Acquia provides the tools and support to ensure that everything is working well. I do wish that their admin UI had a little more detail on visits and views and better reporting on database and file storage, but requests to support and meetings with our Account Manager fill these gaps.
  • Administering SSL certificates.
  • Backing-up databases.
  • Scheduling jobs.
  • Admin UI reporting details on visits and views.
  • Better transparency into database and file storage and optimizing each.
  • Monitoring and alerting (new relic integration is nice, but native capabilities would be great).
If you use Drupal CMS, whether a simple or complex site, Acquia seems like a great partner. If you are considering moving to Acquia and Drupal, I would probably only go this route if you have Drupal development support. While the simple sites are easily maintained through Acquia's RA branch, I think that there are cheaper options for basic sites. Acquia is strong at supporting Drupal hosting, but since there will likely be a separate development team, it creates a bit of a challenge when something goes wrong to figure out if it is an Acquia problem (typically not) or a development problem (usually the case for our issues).

I am helping to build a website using Drupal and to migrate legacy content to the new site. <br>We will be utilizing Acquia DAM for document management. <br>
  • I am very impressed with CloudIDE that allows to install and manage Drupal codebase without installing it on my local machine. Very convenient!
  • I am also impressed with Acquia cloud infrastructure that is provisioned and comes equipped with CI/CD pipelines out of the box.
  • Acquia DAM (Document Management) System is also very impressive. I love that basic solutions come pre-configured and ready to go out of the box.
  • Knowledgeable support is also very impressive with Acquia.
  • Some of the documentation on using new features feels a bit scattered with some obvious questions not readily answered in the documentation at times. But Acquia Support usually fills this gap pretty quickly.
If you are looking for turn-key, done-out-of-the-box solutions with great support and are willing to pay for it, Acquia is a good fit for you.

We host a website for one of our recently acquired subsidiaries on the Acquia platform. We inherited the website and since we have no internal Drupal expertise, we wanted to continuing hosting with a company that specialized in Drupal websites. We depend on Acquia to keep the server up-to-date in terms of OS and Drupal specific core and security patches.
  • Acquia keeps the site up and available. I don't think we've had a second of downtime caused by Acquia.
  • Their administration UI makes it pretty easy to manage the websites at a high level. Check stats, change key configuration values, backup code and databases, manage SSL, create support tickets and manage development teams (users).
  • Their support team can do performance reviews of your website and give you tips for improving performance.
  • Support responds pretty quickly to critical tickets, but they can be slow to respond on non-urgent items. Some of what we experienced may have been related to a newer ticketing system recently implemented.
  • Standard support covers business days/hours but only critical support is available outside those times. We typically schedule our website updates for the weekend or "off" hours when only critical support is available.
Acquia specializes in Drupal, so they are experts at maintaining the necessary infrastructure and code base for Drupal. They are a step above just a pure hosting company where you would be responsible for keeping the Drupal core up-to-date. Our IT team is relatively small and simply does not have the resources to stay on top of these updates as well as making sure the infrastructure is robust and "up".

- Drupal hosting platform
- Drupal CI/CD system
- Drupal maintenance, backups
  • Managing environments
  • Easy to use UI for non technical people
  • Documentation changes always and seems to be inconsistent
  • Deprecating systems and tools very often
  • Price is too high depending on the services offered
  • Minor UX improvements (eg adding names to backups, backup database within the code etc)
Well suited for large scale projects (with a lot of users and sessions) where you don't have the resources or knowledge to support.

Less appropriate for the 90% of the Drupal projects out there.
Also, not suitable for decoupled Drupal projects since you may have problems to host the frontend (usually JS oriented) on the same platform.

We are using it for our official website. The kind of content management and authoring features they offer is very efficient. Flexibility is the primary advantage of the tools offered by Acquia Digital Experience Platform. Correct documentation and simple UI helps a lot for a new comer to adapt to the environment. The CI/CD pipelines help in quick and easy deployment which in turn lessens the load on developers.
  • Quick and easy deployment
  • Up to date and clear documentation
  • Great customer support
  • There are bugs in Site Studio when developing locally
  • Drush 11 is not yet supported on ACP
  • Video tutorials for BLT from scratch
It is well suited for a website with more flexibility requirements. It also helps if one has an inexperienced / no Integration / CI / CD team. It is also helpful for quick deployments. A website can be easily hosted very quickly using Acquia Digital Experience Platform's tools. It is not suitable for businesses having low flexibility requirements or if content is not updated regularly.

Acquia is the host of our main website. As such, the entire platform is fully managed. This greatly helps to free up resources within internal IT teams, and Acquia support is there to help. When issues arises, opening a critical case with support results in immediate action from the support staff. Support is very responsive and will provide professional level assistance. Their speed to help is greatly appreciated and not something that you will find with all PaaS vendors.
  • Responsive support
  • Professional and helpful responses
  • Feels like a true extension of your internal teams
  • A bit tough to navigate through online documentation
If you need a provider to host a site for you while providing top notch support, Acquia should be on your list.

Acquia Digital Experience Platform makes it easier to setup a big state of the art site factory using Drupal's power within an organized and proven package.
The Acquia BLT is at the heart of the stack and improves almost all the development lifecycle to manage and configure your CI/CD efficiently from the local development environment to the production. The learning curve can be steep for junior developers but it's definitely worth it. The documentation is good still with some room of improvement but support is available in case of questions/blockers.
We use mainly Acquia Cloud Platform, Site Factory, Content Hub, Search and Personalization on our projects. In a nutshell:
  • Cloud Platform is where everything is hosted. Administrators can monitor, manage the different environments from there (dev, staging, prod...).
  • Site Factory is where the websites are created, maintained, managed, deployed...
  • Content Hub makes it possible to create centralized/decentralized content repositories to share across a set of subscribing websites.
  • Search is based on Solr and integrated by default in the stack so we don't have to bother with the setup and can be activated/setup easily.
  • Personalization (Lift) provides a UI to create targeted campaigns with specific content for user segments
  • Industrialized platform to manage big site factories
  • Speed-to-market
  • Flexibility in term of governance and architecture
  • Content Hub can be improved on some scenarios
  • Would have been great to have more flexibility for provisioning environments
  • Stacks should be available by default in Site Factory (2 or 3?)
The complementarity of the Acquia solutions makes it easier to add/remove feature stacks more easily. It is some form of composability especially that all the modules are already there in an open source ecosystem where the community can contribute and elevate the products.
We had to replace a solution with another on one of our projects so this organization made it very easy instead.

This originally started being used primarily in marketing but is now used in our careers and community digital landscape. The platform allows us to focus on the content and design specifics and leave the technical platform administration to the Acquia Support team.
  • Single, easy to use online dashboard to manage the applications.
  • Easy to use drag and drop code deployment workflow within the platform.
  • Simple support ticketing process allowing quick access to support and Technical Account Manager (TAM) resources.
  • The monitoring report capabilities are still quite restrictive. Uptime and historical logs could be presented in a reporting structure in the dashboard. This would make the dashboard a single source of truth.
  • Simpler SSL cert upload process. Instead of extracting the keys maybe a simple file upload process could work.
For code deployment purposes their [Acquia Digital Experience Platform] drag and drop feature is a really useful tool. Domain management is easy to use (if you have multiple domain records that you require to manage). The Cloud Edge and WAF subscription pays for itself very quickly and allows for granular management of firewall rules. You can now manage multiple SSL certs in a single application. This is a really positive addition. If you require post-event triage the platform is not quite ready for this yet. You can still access data but you will need dev[elopers'] resources to extract the logs directly from the server(s).

My company uses Acquia Digital Experience Platform Cloud as our website host for four of our sites. We are in the process of developing a 5th site which will also be hosted on Acquia cloud. Acquia Digital Experience Platform cloud take a lot of the support needs out of our hands so that we can focus on our teams' core competencies - site development and content. We have several sites not hosted on Acquia and they take far more time to maintain than our Acquia-hosted sites. I am used to having a more hands-on approach to server hosting (AWS, Digital Ocean, etc) so I personally struggle with the somewhat blackbox-iness of Acquia Cloud. At the same time, there are fewer opportunities to make a mistake affecting the server, so it's definitely a net benefit for our sites and their stability.
  • Great Uptime
  • Great Customer Support
  • Simple platform interface
  • Documentation
  • Could use more configuration"recipes"
Acquia Cloud is well suited for organizations and teams without the ability to support their own hosting, such as on AWS, Digital Ocean, etc. If a team has the ability (and desire) to manage it themselves, I'm not sure I would recommend it. However, if your team needs reliable, hands-off Drupal hosting, I would definitely recommend Acquia Cloud. Once a deployment pipeline is configured, it's very nearly set-and-forget as far as server configuration is concerned.

I use it to host our main site. This is for hosting our internet presence and linking to other company-owned resources. Doing so allows us to right-size the operational requirements as well as enhance the offering to our clients.
  • Hosting
  • Building the right environment as per our needs.
  • Customer support and engagement.
  • Provide more training resources.
  • Certification would be good to have.
  • Monitoring updates.
I can offload the burden of maintaining the infrastructure required to run the site on-prem. Furthermore, the hosting of the environment is left to the team that knows how to completely manage the Drupal platform and ensure that the hosting environment is taking advance of the features of the platform.

We use Acquia's DXP for our enterprise clients that have very specific or high standard requirements into regards of hosting and products. Clients that want an extremely flexible front-end we gear towards using Acquia Site Studio, while other use cases where a customer might want to launch 50 sites each year we gear towards Site Factory, sometimes even a combination of the different products and packages.
  • High Availabillity
  • Easy to use and understand UI
  • Easy to self manage
  • Modern approach with Cloud Next
  • Support sometimes feels a bit like ping pong
  • Real containerised hosting (currently you can only deploy code)
High Availability hosting that complies with all ISO rules and practices. Very well suited for enterprise level clients (pricing is also geared towards those). Some products like Site Studio are unique to Acquia.
